1166 Federal Credit Union Deploys First U.S. Install of CIMA CashUp Software with AST7000-NT5 Teller Cash Recycler

August 31, 2020 – Vita Lansworth is pleased to announce the sale and installation, and first U.S. deployment of the CIMA CashUp software at 1166 Federal Credit Union (1166 FCU) of Swedesboro, NJ.

This program application was designed to provide transactional interaction in a stand-alone environment for CIMA Teller Cash Recyclers. 1166 FCU purchased the fit-for-purpose, AST7000-NT5 for greater teller efficiencies and branch security in their newly designed Café Main Office Branch, but received more benefit than anticipated with the onset of COVID-19.

1166 FCU tends to consider themselves a bit “old school.” Just as the COVID pandemic started to gain momentum in March 2020, they realized their credit union had made a wise decision. They purchased and installed a CIMA AST7000-NT5 TCR.

“We simply love our CIMA TCR, I wish we would’ve had it 20 years ago,” said Annemarie Shinn, CEO for 1166 FCU.  “Just as COVID hit, our TCR was installed and ready for operation.  It has helped to keep our staff from handling cash, keeping transactions very clean. Our members love it.  Our staff loves it.  It truly has been a godsend.”

1166 FCU made the decision to deploy CIMA’s CashUp software solution to run their AST7000-NT5. This cost-effective software was designed to run all the necessary transactions for day-to-day, including daily balancing, in a stand-alone environment performed on a PC.  According to Shinn, “The software is very easy to work.  Being the first install in the U.S., we received fabulous support to adapt to our teller platform from Vita Lansworth’s Service and Support Engineer, Marcus Bauer, as well as the team from CIMA Italy.  We’ve had no jams, and no hardware errors. We literally have not had to open the lid.”

Shinn also stated, “I did a lot of research trying to find the right Teller Cash Recycler.  As a member of the CrossStates Credit Union Association, I talked to a lot of credit unions.  It seemed several institutions told me they are using outdated machines and simply were not able to find affordable replacements. While some had them, I learned many organizations were still looking for them.  John McKinley of Shields Business Solutions, a Vita Lansworth partner, directed me to the CIMA TCR, and this unit has made our operation a whole lot better.”

New to the U.S. market, CIMA’s CashUp software will support any CIMA TCR configuration, including the new AST9000.  This software application was designed to provide transaction interaction in a stand-alone environment and can be easily adapted to individual teller platforms.
